Crimson Waltz: A Poem

A love is falling apart between them,

Hands clasped pushing not pulling the other

Where looks once lingered now claim the stem

With harsh thorns, There the rose they did sever.

Music plays their history out on air

By the accordion’s distant yearning

Which their bodies answer to thus declare

Love has proved a sudden halting hurting.

That which is left of their fading song

Calls for one more turn alone together

A moment too sweet for their bruised right wronged

They face the future bitter weather.

Eyes closed they land the blows and tear apart,

Song stopped they lie each in their crimson heart.
